PMP learning experience

I’ve cleared PMP on Dec 6 with 2P, 2MP, 1BP. I am only left with 20 mins at the end of 200 questions. I’ve marked around 20 questions and changed answers for 5 of them during review. I’ve ended the exam 8 minutes early. I found few mathematical question to be tricky. Quality TT I found to be difficult. Took a short  break after 100 questions.

Here’s my LL experience:

After the Classroom training in Feb 2012 but I couldn't start preparation immediately as I was busy with hectic project schedule.

Serious preparation started only in the second week of August and was consistent till exam.

I am able to make it with 130 hours (approx) of preparation.

Prep material:

Head First PMP:  Read once and along chapter end exercise and Final Exam.

The Pmp Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try by Andy Crowe – Read once and completed chapter end exercise and Final Exam.

Rita Mulchay: Only Chapter End exercises.

PMBOK: Read twice end - end. and knowledge areas like Risk, Procurement required another 2 times study.

Oliver Lehman Exams: 75 question and 175 questions

PMStudy: Free test.

PMPForSure: Two weeks before I’ve bought this product. I’ve got consistently 65%. The questions are lot tricky than actual exam. The 50 page notes helped as a quick reference. This helped me identify my knowledge gaps. Good one.

Abhishek's Version - Rajesh Nair PMP Notes:  Read once on the day before the exam.

PMZilla 200 Tough Questions: Good One. Solved one time.

PMZilla Forums which is a constant motivator during preparation.

Improvement areas:

Didn’t start preparation immediately after the classroom training.

Didn’t have a good learning plan.

Tried to memorize the ITTOs which wasted lot of time. Exam is not about memorizing.

Didn’t practice sitting for 4 hours.

All the very best for the Aspiring PMPs.
